Robotics Team Earns Honors

The FIRST robotics team from Jackson, Michigan, The Jacktown Vectors, recently qualified for the FIRST World Championship competition which was held in St. Louis, MO in April.  The team, representing the Jackson Area Career Center, is sponsored in part by MACI.
While the Jacktown Vectors did not place among the top finishers at the World Championship competition, the team finished 9th out of the top 40 teams in Michigan, at the Michigan State Championship, held at Saginaw Valley State University.  Their finish at Saginaw Valley qualified them for the world championships.
The Jacktown Vectors also had a strong 4th place showing at the Ann Arbor regional competition along with a 5th place finish at the Lansing regional event. They were awarded the “Gracious Professionalism Award” sponsored by Johnson & Johnson at the Lansing area regional event.
The Jacktown Vectors were featured in a documentary following them as they prepared for and competed in the Lansing FRC District Competition at Mason High School.  The documentary was produced by JTV and sponsored by MACI.
