Responsibilities may include: Warehouse layout and parts movement, shipping & receiving, packaging and transportation areas. Required: 4 year degree-Industrial Engineering, Industrial Operations Engineering or Applied Sciences Engineering degree preferred or Supply Chain, Logistics or related degree combined with 2-5 years previous experience in a fast paced manufacturing or warehouse environment or previous experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools; excellent written and oral communication and MS Office skills. Familiarity with AIAG standards, customer order systems, packaging management systems, skills. D.O.T. regulations, previous leadership experience and a working knowledge of MAPICS & AS400 systems a plus.
Variable Assembly Team Leader – 2nd shift
Responsibilities include: Manage and maintain Safety, Quality and Productivity output utilizing existing Preventative Maintenance systems; support Department & Companywide Policy, Goals and Objectives; first line supervision of manufacturing associates ensuring appropriate associate training; evaluate performance & give feedback; track attendance & vacation and administer corrective action as necessary. Required: High School Diploma with previous Supervisory/Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (Assembly preferred). Must be able to perform any task or line position within the area of responsibility; communicate effectively with and utilize multi-department resources to achieve daily production requirements; understand and utilize root cause analysis tools, support 5S and improvement activities.
Human Resources Specialist
Responsibilities include: Generating/analyzing/reporting various HR related data including HR Index, Labor Control, Morale Surveys, exit interviews; conduct compensation and other HR related surveys/benchmarking as needed; will take, do follow up and distribute associate meeting minutes and analysis; may rotate to and support other HR areas as needed; will interact with associates at all levels. Requires: 4 year Degree in a Human Resources related concentration or a Business or Psychology related degree combined with 2 + years previous HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Must have strong interpersonal, verbal/written/presentation communication and MS Office skills; very strong data analysis and Excel skills; be flexible with work hours and willing to work overtime as required. Experience in a manufacturing facility is a plus.

Michigan Automotive Compressor, Inc. was named the “2016 Corporate Citizen of the Year” by the Jackson Citizen Patriot newspaper. On the heels of the company’s 25th anniversary celebration and the delivery of the 100 millionth compressor, the editors of the Citizen Patriot honored the people of MACI with their annual honor. In keeping with the management philosophy of MACI, which includes a strong commitment to be a responsible citizen, the newspaper highlighted the many areas MACI associates provide volunteer labor, make financial donations, share expertise and provide mentorship throughout the community. The ownership, management and associates of MACI are deeply touched upon receiving this honor and filled with gratitude. Parma, MI – Associates at Michigan Automotive Compressor, Inc. (MACI) are counting down the semi-trucks leaving the building loaded with brand new automotive air-conditioning compressor units. Sometime in just the next three days MACI will ship our 100 millionth product. UPDATE: The One Hundred Millionth compressor unit was shipped at 1300 Hours on Friday, December 11, 2015.
100,000,000 is a milestone of monumental proportions for the manufacturer on the west side of Jackson County, MI, which just celebrated its 25th Anniversary of Production this year. Over the past 25 years, MACI has added 3 major building expansions until it is over 1 million square feet; grown from 250 to 1,050 associates (employees) and added many millions of dollars of new manufacturing equipment, most notably new production lines and cells for the new variable-type compressor which is quickly growing in popularity in the automotive industry.
Earlier in the year, associates submitted estimates of when the actual compressor will ship in an informal competition. The person who proves to have the closest guess will receive a Michigan get-away weekend package to celebrate.
“100 million is a measure of the value added by associates to the metal and materials we use in each compressor unit,” said MACI’s President Todd Ishikawa. “It is the quality focus of associates that is responsible for our success, not the equipment. Our people build our future a little more each day.”
MACI was established in 1989 and started production in June of 1990. The largest manufacturing employer in Jackson, MACI employs 1,050 associates. The company is a joint-venture between Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) and DENSO Corporation of Japan. MACI manufactures automotive air-conditioning compressor units for many automotive manufacturers including GM, Chrysler, Ford, Toyota, and Honda, as well as Freightliner and John Deere.
